atlantic Sea kayak Camp

A unique place with an ocean of opportunities

North Atlantic Sea Kayak Camp - Norway

Do you ever dream about planning your own trips in Scandinavia and Norway? Do you need skills training in tidal areas and bigger swell? On this sea kayak course on the west coast of Norway you'll get both the technical skills as well as the the theoretically information to plan safe and well planned trips of your own.

During the 3 day camp on the island of Smøla south west of Trondheim we'll use the perfect estting for this training. The area offers both sheltered sea kayaking in the archipelago but also some more exposed area wiith big swell coming in from the atlantic.

On Smøla the tidal range is between 1,5- 3 meters and this affect the ocean and the waters we're paddling in. However there are no strong currents so it's the perfect area for those new to moving water and aiming to plan their own trips in Norway in the future.

The aim for this course is to give you an understanding of how you can plan your trips according to the tidal movements in the area to save energi, make you. aware of possible route choices and smooth arrival to campsites etc.

The camp is a great combination on technical skills development in dynamic waters, trip planning in tidal waters, risk assessment, and day trips to exotic places along the coast. Great food and good company are of course also a big. part of the camp.
